We chat to the KAT Marketing team, who will be out in force playing their part in The
Colchester Half Marathon! If you have worked or lived in Colchester for any length of time, there is no doubt you
will have come across some of KAT Marketing’s work.
From websites and social media campaigns to events and community activities, KAT
Marketing is a creative marketing agency working with partners across the city.
The KAT team is also at the heart of a number of popular local community events,
and that is why they are so thrilled to be a playing their part in The Colchester Half
Marathon.
Katie Skingle is the managing director at KAT Marketing. She said: “We are
passionate about being part of the Colchester community and so it is a privilege to
be a sponsor for this brilliant event.
“Colchester is a very special city and it has a great calendar of events, festivals and
activities for everyone to enjoy and play a part in, whether they are young or old. If
you’ve been involved in Musicircus, Trick and Treats, Kids in the City or you saw
Cruella Deville hurtling down Colchester High Street during the Soapbox Rally last
year, then you’ll know exactly what to expect from the KAT team and how much the
city of Colchester means to us.
The Colchester Half Marathon is a great way to celebrate all that is best about our
beautiful city and we are thrilled to also help raise funds for Robin Cancer Trust,
which is such a worthwhile cause.”
Members of the KAT team will be out and about on the route on the day of the half
marathon, helping to refresh and revive runners with water bottles and supersoakers.
There will also be two members of the KAT Marketing team taking charity places to
help raise money for the Robin Cancer Trust.
Jasmine Skingle has been a long-time fundraisier for many good causes despite her
young years. Still only 19, Jasmine can remember being the youngest person to
complete the Gherkin Step Challenge for the NSPCC when she was just six years
old.
Now she will be hot-stepping it around the Colchester Half Marathon course to
continue making a difference, which will also be a handy bit of training ahead of her
participation in the London Marathan just a month or so later.
Also in the KAT running team will be Julian Read. At 46 he is at the other end of his
running career, but taking part in the Colchester Half Marathon has been the catalyst
to get his trainers on and get some miles under his belt.
Julian explains: “I ran the London Marathon a few years ago, but I didn’t keep up the
running after that, so it had been a while. When the chance came to take part in the
Colchester Half Marathon it was just the inspiration I needed to get back out there.
Everyone in the office has been so supportive as I have started my training again.
It will be a great atmosphere on the day, and while I know there will be tough
moments during the run, it is going to be a brilliant day, fantastic fun and a chance to
raise money for a very worthwhile charity.”
Get your running shoes on!
The KAT team are all very proud to be sponsors of such a fabulous community event
and we are looking forward to seeing as many people at the Colchester Half-
Marathon as possible.
